From safe drinking water to emergency response: six complementary areas of action.
Water, sanitation and hygiene
Access to safe drinking water is at the heart of our work. In the Timbuktu, Taoudenit and Mopti regions, we build lasting water points and support communities in managing them.
Medium-depth boreholes fitted with hand pumps
Simplified water supply systems and water towers, including solar-powered ones
Improved village water systems
Hygiene and sanitation awareness around water points
Since 2020, more than 160 boreholes fitted with hand pumps have been built in the Diré, Goundam and Timbuktu districts and in the Mopti region.
Food security and agriculture
We help farmers, and women’s groups in particular, to produce more, and more sustainably.
Development and rehabilitation of market gardens and rice schemes
Provision of seeds, inputs and equipment
Agricultural extension and support to producers
Composting and soil fertility management
Tintelout rice scheme; Goundam, Arham, Darsalam and Bokiyat market gardens.
Livestock and livelihoods
For women and young people, livestock is a source of income and dignity. We support income-generating activities suited to the local context.
Sheep fattening units for women’s and youth associations
Herd restocking and camel kits
Craft units and income-generating activities
Links with financial partners and local authorities
In 2019, 120 vulnerable households in the Taoudenit region received camel kits, and 50 young people were set up in sheep fattening in Aratène.
Protection, gender and social cohesion
We put women, young people and people with disabilities at the centre of the decisions that affect them.
Prevention of and response to gender-based violence
Civic participation of women, young people and people with disabilities
Peace, reconciliation and conflict management
Gender and development
In Koutiala and Yorosso, these groups took part in drawing up their communes’ water, hygiene and sanitation plans.
Governance and capacity building
Strong community organisations and well-equipped local authorities are the best guarantee of lasting results.
Organisational and institutional support to community-based groups
Training for groups, cooperatives and management committees
Support to decentralisation and good governance
Employability of young graduates
In 2025, farmer groups in the Kayes, Nioro and Yélimané hubs were strengthened as part of degraded land restoration.
Emergency response and environment
In times of crisis, we meet the vital needs of displaced people. In the face of climate change, we protect natural resources.
Distribution of food and kits to displaced people
Support to refugees, returnees and flood victims
Reforestation and improved cookstoves
Restoration of degraded land
Every year since 2021, displaced families at sites in Bamako have received food assistance.
Together, let’s bring water and hope to the communities of the Sahel.
Partners, local authorities, companies or individuals: every contribution counts.
